dōTERRA Loyalty Rewards Program (LRP) explained: how it works, whether to join, how to cancel
LRP gives back 10–30% of every order in product points, but the word “subscription” scares people. A plain explanation: how points accrue, what the free product of the month is, the catches, and how to switch it off.
Right after “how much does the account cost” comes “what is this subscription they keep offering me?”. That is the Loyalty Rewards Program, LRP for short. It is optional, nobody is enrolled by default, and yet it is what turns the 25% discount into a real 35–55% if you order regularly. Here is how it actually works.
LRP in plain words
You set up a monthly order template: which products and on which day of the month. For every such order dōTERRA credits you points that can later pay for any product in the catalog. The percentage grows with time in the program:

Points accumulate on your account and can be spent any time, like a supermarket rewards card. On top of that, an LRP order of 125 PV or more (PV is dōTERRA’s volume unit, roughly a dollar) placed by the 15th earns the free product of the month, usually an oil worth $20–40.
What LRP is not
It is not a streaming-style auto-charge you cannot touch. You can edit the template any day: add or remove products, move the date, set the amount to the minimum. The only rule for keeping your points is one order of at least 1 PV per month. Deleting the template entirely wipes accumulated points, so spend them first.
There is no minimum amount. People who order 30–50 PV a month use LRP just like those who order 200.
When it is worth joining
If you already know you order dōTERRA more often than once a quarter, LRP beats any one-off purchase: the 25% wholesale discount plus 10–30% back means that from year two roughly every third bottle is free. Add the free product of the month at 125 PV.
When it is not
If you bought a kit to try and do not know whether you will reorder, do not join yet. The 25% discount stays regardless, and points from one or two orders are not worth the attention. You can join later from your account in a minute.
How to turn it on and off
On: your account → Loyalty Orders → Create Loyalty Order → add products → pick a date. Off: same section → Delete Loyalty Order. Redeem your points in the cart before deleting.
If the enrollment form offers to set up LRP right away, you can click “Not now” and come back to it later. It does not affect your discount.
