If you have searched for dōTERRA prices, you have probably noticed two numbers next to every oil: a retail price and a wholesale price about a quarter lower. The lower one is not a promotion and not a trade-only price. It is what any member pays, and becoming a member takes about five minutes. This guide explains what that account is, what it costs in different countries, how it differs from the business account, and what people usually get wrong about it.

Two prices, one product

dōTERRA Lavender 15 mL bottle dōTERRA sells the same bottle at two prices. Retail is what a visitor pays on doterra.com without an account. Wholesale is 25% lower and applies to every product in the catalogue, from a single bottle of Lavender to a diffuser or a supplement. The oil, the label and the warehouse are identical; only the price changes.

To get the wholesale price you open a Wholesale Customer account. That is the official name of the plain customer membership. It is separate from the business account (Wellness Advocate), and you do not need the business account to get the discount.

Take Lavender 15 mL in the US: retail $38.67, wholesale $29.00. That is $9.67 on one bottle. Against a $35 fee (and US enrollment is currently free) the account pays for itself by the fourth bottle — in other words, usually within the first order.

What the account costs

There is a one-time enrollment fee in every market, roughly the price of a single 15 mL oil. In most countries it is waived entirely when your first order is a starter kit, because the kit already includes it.

Country Fee When it is waived
United States free (autumn 2026) —
Germany, eurozone €24 first order of 150 PV (≈ €180) or a kit
United Kingdom £24 same
Poland 108 zł same
Ukraine €20 a kit
Kazakhstan 9,260 ₸ a kit
UAE AED 130 a kit
Israel ₪103.50 a kit

After twelve months the membership renews for a similar fee. dōTERRA sends a free 15 mL Peppermint with every renewal, which in most markets is worth more than the fee itself. If you do not renew, nothing happens: the account simply goes back to retail pricing until you decide to renew.

What it does not oblige you to

This is the part people worry about, so it deserves plain language:

  • No monthly minimum. A wholesale customer can order once a year or once a week. There is no quota.
  • No subscription unless you turn it on. The Loyalty Rewards Program (LRP) is optional. It gives 10–30% of each order back as product points, but you can join it later or never.
  • No selling and no recruiting. A wholesale customer is a customer. You are not asked to share, sell or sign anyone up, and you never receive business e-mails about team building.
  • No contract length. You can stop ordering at any time and let the membership lapse.

If at some point you do want to share the oils and earn commissions, the account can be upgraded to Wellness Advocate from your back office. Most members never do.

Wholesale Customer or Wellness Advocate

dōTERRA Lemon 15 mL bottle The form offers two account types, and advocates often suggest taking the second one “just in case”. Do not. Here is the difference:

Wholesale Customer Wellness Advocate
Discount 25% 25%
LRP points yes, optional yes, optional
Bonuses on orders of people you introduce no yes
Advocate agreement, business rules no yes
Tax obligations none income must be declared
Business e-mails and training no yes

For buying for yourself and your family, Wellness Advocate adds nothing but obligations. If a year from now you decide you want to recommend the oils and be paid for it, switching takes a couple of minutes in your account. Switching back does too. A longer comparison is in Wholesale Customer vs Wellness Advocate.

Wholesale vs. retail vs. resellers

Retail on doterra.com Reseller / marketplace Wholesale account
Price Full price Often above retail, sometimes below 25% below retail
Source Official warehouse Third party, batch unknown Official warehouse
Guarantee dōTERRA’s return policy Seller’s terms dōTERRA’s return policy
Loyalty points No No Optional, 10–30% back
Delivered from dōTERRA, on your market’s terms Anywhere dōTERRA, on your market’s terms

Marketplace listings are the trap here. A bottle sold by a third party may be genuine and it may not; it may have sat in a hot warehouse for two years; and the price is often higher than the wholesale price you would pay directly. The account is the cheaper and safer route. How to spot a fake.

Which country to enroll in

Your account belongs to one market, and that market decides the warehouse, the currency and the shipping rules. Enroll in the country where you actually receive parcels. dōTERRA has direct enrollment in the United States, Canada, Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Kazakhstan, Israel, the UAE, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and about fifteen more markets; more than a hundred other countries are served through a program called Global Access — the order ships from the US warehouse to a forwarding address in the US, and the forwarder sends it on to you, with extra shipping and customs costs.

On the home page you can pick your country and open the official form for it, already connected to our enroller number. A step-by-step guide with screenshots shows every screen of the form.

What happens after you enroll

dōTERRA Peppermint 15 mL bottle An e-mail arrives with your member number (Member ID) and a link to your account. The first order is already paid and usually leaves the warehouse within one or two working days; the tracking number comes in a separate e-mail. From then on you order through the account or the dōTERRA app: the catalogue at wholesale prices, order history, reorder in two clicks. Nobody will call you to “bring you into the business” — we are in touch only when you write to us. How to log in if you lose the e-mail.

What to order first

If you are new to essential oils, a starter kit is the sensible first order: it replaces the enrollment fee and costs less than the same bottles bought separately. The Home Essentials kit (ten 15 mL oils and a diffuser) is the classic choice for a household; the compact option is Family Essentials with 5 mL bottles. The comparison is in the kits article. If you already know which oils you want, skip the kit, pay the small fee and pick freely.

Whatever you order, the price you see after enrolling is the wholesale price, and it stays that way for every later order.

Questions and answers

What is a dōTERRA Wholesale Customer?

The plain customer membership: 25% off retail on the whole catalogue for a year. No obligation to sell, recruit or order regularly. It is the default account type in the enrollment form.

How much does a wholesale account cost?

A one-time fee of about one bottle: €24 in Europe, £24 in the UK, AED 130 in the UAE, ₪103.50 in Israel; currently free in the US. With a starter kit the fee is included, and in Europe it is waived when the first order is 150 PV or more.

What is the difference between Wholesale Customer and Wellness Advocate?

The discount is the same 25%. A Wellness Advocate can additionally earn bonuses on orders from people they introduce, but signs the advocate agreement and falls under the business rules. For buying for yourself, Advocate adds nothing; you can switch later in your account.

What happens if I do not order for a year?

Nothing. The account does not renew and goes back to retail pricing; there are no debts or penalties. If you want to come back, pay the renewal (about $25 in local currency) and receive a free Peppermint.

Can I buy without an account?

Yes, at retail on your country’s official site. But the account pays for itself on the first $100 order: a $25 saving against a fee of the same order, and pure saving after that.

Which country should I enroll in if I live abroad?

The one where you receive parcels. An account is tied to one market and cannot ship elsewhere. Countries without direct enrollment use Global Access: the order ships from the US to a US forwarding address, and the forwarder sends it on, with extra shipping and customs costs.

Do I need to name an enroller?

Our link fills in the enroller number for you; it obliges you to nothing and does not affect the price. The enroller is simply the person who answers your questions; without one, the form asks you to pick someone at random.
