Which dōTERRA enrollment kit to choose: Home Essentials vs Family Essentials vs Natural Solutions

A dōTERRA diffuser and oil bottles on a tray

An enrollment kit is the cheapest way to open an account: the fee is included and the oils cost less than the same bottles bought separately. But there are more than a dozen kits, every country has its own, and this is the step where people stall. Here are the ones most people start with, real prices for the warehouses we enroll with, and an honest note on who does not need a kit at all.

Contents and prices vary by country; the exact ones appear in the form once you pick your country. A table by warehouse is below.

Home Essentials: where almost everyone starts

dōTERRA Lavender 15 mL bottle Ten core oils in 15 mL — Lavender, Lemon, Peppermint, Frankincense, Tea Tree, Oregano, On Guard, Breathe (Air in Europe), DigestZen (ZenGest), Deep Blue (5 mL) — plus a diffuser. This is the kit that covers everyday life: the evening diffuser, cleaning, skin care, travel, sport. Full-size bottles, so it lasts about a year. If you do not know what to pick, pick this.

The math, using Germany as the example: the same ten oils bought separately at wholesale come to about €414, a diffuser adds €52–55, the fee €24 — about €490 in total. The kit is €328. The saving is roughly €160, about a third — in effect the diffuser and two or three oils for free.

Family Essentials: the same kit in small bottles

dōTERRA Lemon 15 mL bottle The same ten oils in 5 mL (about 85 drops each) and no diffuser, at roughly half the price of Home Essentials. The best choice if you want to try the whole “ten” and find out what you actually use, then buy full-size bottles of only the favourites. One downside: the bottles are small, and Lemon and Lavender run out in a couple of months with active use.

In Israel this kit comes in a MetaPWR version (the metabolic blend and capsules) for ₪706; in Kazakhstan and Europe it is the classic one.

Natural Solutions: when you have decided

The largest of the popular kits: full-size oils including the expensive ones (Frankincense, On Guard), Lifelong Vitality supplements, personal care, a diffuser and a wooden storage box. Price per item is among the best in the catalog, but the total is noticeable — about €863 in Germany (€870–892 elsewhere in the eurozone) and $450 in the US. Bought by families who have used dōTERRA before and are moving to their own supply, or by anyone who wants one order to cover everything. Often comes with a loyalty points bonus; in the US it earns 100 points straight away.

Our advice: if you have never held a dōTERRA bottle, do not start here. It is too easy to end up with a $500 box in which half the products stay sealed.

Supplement-led kits: Healthy Habits, Essential Foundations

In the US and Global Access countries there are kits built around a daily routine rather than oils: Healthy Habits ($225 — five 5 mL oils plus Lifelong Vitality, PB Assist probiotic, TerraZyme enzymes and Deep Blue rub) and Essential Foundations ($265). They suit people who already know they want oils in small amounts and supplements every day. As a “first kit for the home” they are weaker: few oils, and small ones.

Global Access (other countries) — — $206 (Simple, no diffuser) $480

In Europe the fee is waived entirely when the first order is 150 PV or more (about €180) — which is any kit from Family Essentials up. In the US enrollment is currently free. The exact price is in the form on the home page once you choose your country; the buttons there open the cart with the kit already in it.

The no-kit option

If you need two or three specific oils, skip the kit: pay the fee (about $35 in the US, roughly one bottle’s price elsewhere) and build your own order. In Kazakhstan and Russia this is the “Enrollment Fee” line item; in Europe it is “Continue without a kit”; in the US it is the “Start Shopping” button. The discount is the same 25% on everything.

Where to start without a kit is in the first five oils for your home.

How to choose in a minute

dōTERRA Peppermint 15 mL bottle No idea what you need and want to try everything: Family Essentials. You have used the oils at a friend’s and know the diffuser will run every evening: Home Essentials. A family of four switching to dōTERRA fully and ready for the total: Natural Solutions. Two or three specific bottles: no kit.

The mistake we see most often: buying the big kit “because it is better value” and then not opening half of it for six months. Value only exists in what gets used.

If your country’s kits look different

They will: Mexico, Australia and Japan have their own contents and names, some with local bundles. The logic holds: a kit with ten full-size oils and a diffuser is your Home Essentials equivalent; one with small bottles is your Family Essentials; one built around supplements is your Healthy Habits. If unsure, write to us with your country and we will tell you what is on your warehouse’s list.

Decided? Open the form for your country from the home page; the second step shows the kits with prices in your currency. Every screen is in the step-by-step guide.

Kit contents and prices are set by dōTERRA and differ by market; the current ones are in the enrollment form. dōTERRA products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Questions and answers

Do I have to buy a kit to enroll?

No. You can pay just the fee (about one bottle’s worth: €24 in Germany, £24 in the UK, AED 130 in the UAE; free in the US right now) and build your first order from any products. A kit is simply better value because the fee is included and the oils cost less than bought separately.

Which kit is the best value?

Per bottle, Home Essentials: ten full-size 15 mL oils plus a diffuser for roughly two thirds of what they cost separately. Natural Solutions is even better per item, but the total is two to three times higher.

What is the difference between Family Essentials and Home Essentials?

The same ten oils, but in 5 mL bottles instead of 15 mL and without the diffuser, at about half the price. A good way to try everything and find out what you actually reach for before buying the big bottles.

Are the kits the same in every country?

No. Each warehouse has its own contents, names and prices: Europe and Kazakhstan have Home and Family Essentials, the US has Family Essentials, Home Essentials, Essential Foundations and Natural Solutions, Israel has Family Essentials with MetaPWR. Pick your country on our home page and we show the kits for your warehouse.

Can I change what is in a kit?

No, a kit is fixed. But you can add any products to the same order, and if you do not need everything in it, take Family Essentials or the no-kit option and build the order yourself.

Do I pay the account fee every year?

Renewal is about $25 a year (in local currency), and dōTERRA sends a free bottle of Peppermint with it that is worth about the same. If you have not ordered in a year, you can simply not renew.
