Peace is the blend for the last hour of the day: soft florals, resins and a deep, earthy base. It smells like lavender with more depth, and it works as a signal that the evening has started.

In short: Peace is dōTERRA’s Reassuring blend of vetiver, lavender, ylang ylang, frankincense, clary sage, marjoram, labdanum and spearmint. A 5 ml bottle costs $35 wholesale in the US and £34.75 in the UK. People use it in the evening and bedtime diffuser, on a pillow corner and diluted on the neck; dilute it for skin and keep it away from the eyes.

What it is and where it comes from

Peace is a blend, so there is no single plant behind it. The ingredients are:

  • Vetiver
  • Lavender
  • Ylang Ylang
  • Frankincense
  • Clary Sage
  • Marjoram
  • Labdanum
  • Spearmint

Floral oils (lavender, ylang ylang, clary sage) make up the soft top and heart, herbal marjoram and spearmint keep it fresh, and the resins and roots (frankincense, labdanum, vetiver) give the grounded base. It belongs to the same mood family as Serenity and Balance.

dōTERRA tests every batch of its oils, and the results for your lot number are published at sourcetoyou.com.

Aroma

Soft and floral at first, then woody and slightly smoky-sweet from frankincense and labdanum, with vetiver giving an earthy, long-lasting base. A hint of spearmint stops it from feeling heavy. It is a quiet scent that fits a dim room.

How people use it

In the diffuser. Two or three drops are plenty, usually an hour before bedtime:

Blend Drops When
Peace on its own 2–3 Evening, living room or bedroom
Peace + Lavender 2 + 2 Bedtime routine
Peace + Frankincense 2 + 1 Quiet evening, reading
Peace + Wild Orange 2 + 2 Lighter, sweeter evening

On the pillow. One drop on a cotton pad or the corner of a pillowcase, a safe distance from your face, is a popular bedtime routine. Test the fabric first, as oils can stain.

In the bath. Mix one drop with a spoon of carrier oil or unscented bath gel before adding it to the water; oil alone floats on the surface and can irritate.

On skin. Diluted at one drop per 10 ml of carrier oil, dab it on the back of the neck or wrists. Keep it away from the face and eyes.

Safety

Peace is a mild blend, but the usual rules apply:

  • Dilute for skin: one drop per 10 ml of carrier oil.
  • Patch-test on the inner arm and wait 24 hours if your skin is sensitive.
  • Keep it away from eyes and mucous membranes.
  • In pregnancy, while breastfeeding or with medical conditions, ask a doctor first; clary sage and marjoram are among its ingredients.
  • Keep the bottle out of reach of children, and diffuse only lightly around small children.
  • Pets, especially cats and birds, are sensitive to essential oils; ventilate and give animals a way out.
  • It is not for food.

Is it worth the price?

A 5 ml bottle holds about 85 drops, so at $35 a drop costs roughly 41 cents (about 41 pence at £34.75). A diffuser session of three drops comes to around $1.24. That is more per drop than Lavender on its own, but you get eight ingredients, including frankincense, vetiver and ylang ylang, in a single bottle.

If you already own Lavender and Frankincense, you can mix a simpler evening blend; Peace is for people who want the finished formula. dōTERRA tests every batch, and the lot number results are at sourcetoyou.com.

What to pair it with

Peace is not in a starter kit. Its neighbours are Serenity, a lavender-led evening blend, and Balance, a woody grounding blend. For a simpler evening routine, add Lavender.

If you are just starting out, the first five oils for your home is a good base before adding blends.

Where to buy it

Buy directly from dōTERRA under your market’s terms: you pay the price in the table above, the parcel ships from the regional warehouse under your country’s rules, and the label shows the formula sold where you live. If your country is not an official dōTERRA market, you order through Global Access: the parcel ships from the US via a forwarding intermediary, with extra shipping and customs costs. Marketplace bottles at half price are a gamble; here is how to spot a fake. Pick your country on the home page to open the official form with the wholesale price, or ask us if anything is unclear.
