Adaptiv is the blend people pick up for the busy part of the day: a full inbox, a commute, a family evening that runs late. Its aroma is soft and bright at the same time, more like a light perfume than a herbal oil, which makes it easy to use around other people.

In short: Adaptiv is a calming blend of oils such as lavender, magnolia, neroli, sweetgum, wild orange, spearmint, rosemary and copaiba. A 15 ml bottle costs $44 wholesale in the US and £43.75 in the UK. It is used in the diffuser on busy days and diluted on the wrists; it is an aromatic product, not a treatment.

What it is and where it comes from

Adaptiv is a recipe rather than a single plant. Its ingredients come from different growing regions, and the formula can differ between countries, so always read the label of your bottle. In some markets the same name also covers Adaptiv Touch, a pre-diluted roll-on, and capsules sold as a dietary supplement; this page is about the pure oil blend.

The idea of the blend is balance: floral notes (lavender, magnolia, neroli) for softness, citrus and mint (wild orange, spearmint) for brightness, and resinous, woody notes (sweetgum, copaiba) for depth.

Aroma

Soft citrus-floral with a fresh, minty lift and a gentle, sweet balsamic base. It is light rather than heavy and does not smell medicinal. Many people say it smells calm without making them sleepy, which is why it works during the day.

How people use it

In the diffuser. Adaptiv works well on its own; it also mixes easily:

Blend Drops When
Adaptiv on its own 4–5 Busy workday at home
Adaptiv + Wild Orange 3 + 2 Afternoon, family time
Adaptiv + Lavender 3 + 2 Early evening
Adaptiv + Frankincense 3 + 2 Before a meeting or exam

On the wrists or neck. Mix one to two drops with 10 ml of carrier oil in a roll-on bottle and apply to the wrists, behind the ears or the back of the neck. Breathing the scent from your wrists for a moment is a quick, discreet habit at work.

On the go. A drop on a cotton pad in a small tin, a felt aroma pad on a necklace or a car vent clip; all are ways to enjoy it away from the diffuser.

As part of a routine. Many people pair the aroma with a short pause: a few slow breaths, a walk, a cup of tea. The oil is a pleasant cue, not a fix.

Safety

Adaptiv is mild, but these points apply:

  • Dilute for skin: one to two drops per 10 ml of carrier oil for adults.
  • It contains wild orange; to be safe, avoid strong sun on treated skin for several hours.
  • It contains spearmint and rosemary: for small children, diffuse lightly in a ventilated room and do not apply it to their faces.
  • In pregnancy, while breastfeeding or if you take medication, ask your doctor first.
  • It is not a substitute for medical help; if stress or anxiety affects your daily life, see a doctor.
  • Patch-test first and follow the label of your country.

Is it worth the price?

A 15 ml bottle holds about 250 drops, so at $44 one drop costs around 18 cents and a diffuser session of four drops about 70 cents. That is on the higher side, mostly because of precious floral components like neroli and magnolia, which are expensive on their own.

If you would use it daily, the bottle lasts two to three months. If you mostly want a relaxing evening scent, Lavender or Serenity may cover that at a lower price. Batch test results are public at sourcetoyou.com.

What to pair it with

Adaptiv is not in a starter kit. It pairs naturally with bright oils for daytime, such as Wild Orange, Bergamot or Citrus Bliss, and with grounding ones such as Frankincense, Balance or Cedarwood. For evenings, add Lavender or Roman Chamomile. If you like its fresh side, a drop of Peppermint gives it more lift.

Where to buy it

Buy directly from dōTERRA under your market’s terms: you pay the price in the table above, the parcel ships from the regional warehouse under your country’s rules, and you know which version (oil, Touch or capsules) your country sells. If your country is not an official dōTERRA market, you order through Global Access: the parcel ships from the US via a forwarding intermediary, with extra shipping and customs costs. Marketplace bottles at half price are a gamble; here is how to spot a fake. Pick your country on the home page to open the official form with the wholesale price, or ask us if anything is unclear.

Questions and answers

How much does dōTERRA Adaptiv cost?

In the US a 15 ml bottle is $44.00 wholesale and $58.67 retail; in the UK it is £43.75 wholesale and £58.33 retail. The table above lists ten countries from the official October 2026 price lists.

What is in Adaptiv?

The blend combines oils such as lavender, magnolia, neroli, sweetgum, wild orange, spearmint, rosemary and copaiba. Compositions can differ between markets, so read the label of your bottle.

What is the difference between Adaptiv, Adaptiv Touch and the capsules?

Adaptiv is the pure 15 ml blend for the diffuser or for diluting yourself. Adaptiv Touch is a pre-diluted roll-on, and in some markets there are also capsules sold as a supplement. Availability varies by country.

Is Adaptiv a treatment for anxiety?

No. It is an aromatic blend that many people find pleasant during busy or tense days. It is not a medicine; if you struggle with anxiety, talk to a doctor.

Can I put Adaptiv on my skin?

Yes, diluted. One to two drops per 10 ml of carrier oil on the wrists or the back of the neck is a common way to use it. It contains wild orange, so to be safe avoid strong sun on treated skin.
